In the event that we accept that there are massive benefits to creating a Real Global Democracy (“RGD”), how would we start to create it?
The first step would be to choose a list of select countries that have a decent internet infrastructure and encourage all of the citizens of those countries to like our Real Global Democracy Facebook page. If a very large proportion of the population of any country did like our Facebook page, then that signals that they want change.
The second step would be to get those who do want change to only vote for independents who align themselves with RGD in their next general election. These independents should not be identified as RGD members of a political party. The only thing they have in common is that they believe in the idea of a real national and or global democracy, and giving the people the choice to vote on many different topics, and not just a few.
The third step would be that once all of the independents were elected, they would form a temporary government with only one goal in mind – that is to completely change the constitution to facilitate a real democracy in their country so that no legislative or budgetary changes can ever be implemented without a referendum being put to the people first.
The fourth step would be to show how positive and effective the results of this action are on the society in countries which have already implemented the real democracy concept, like Switzerland has to date, and then roll it out from there globally. Yes, there will be countries under the control of dictators (some of which call themselves “democracies”) who will try everything to block such a move, but let’s prove the point by giving the power to the people in as many countries as possible, and let the results speak for themselves to show up the others, and hopefully we can find a peaceful method to also convince them to follow.
